my god. i freakin' love The Spirit of Orpheus. the cornet part is so nice. and the part with the saxophones and horns combined reminded me of Bacchus, for some weird reason. i think he's the god of wine or something like that? yeah.
anyway. Mr Chew was like. hurt? by the so-called "reflection of Aw Chai Foo" in the Zwinds blog. er. can't exactly fault our batch. most of the posts are done by our alumni. naturally they would be closer to A.C.F than A.C. well, up to him if he wants to be so sensitive. though we did try this practice, as shown by Estrellita. a little off on tempo at parts, but still sounds quite alright.
so sick of Bandology already. can we just cut that march out and replace it with something much less irritating like Thundercrest? oh i just remembered. got new scores for A Huntingdon Celebration and Sway. love the two songs. especially A.H.C. played it in sec1. very melodious, from what i remember of the first clarinet part.
sometimes band sessions seem almost relaxing, despite the constant lecturing and repeats. there's just something so electric when the band gets something going so well. occassionally. or when doing a new piece for the first time ever. figuring out the melody gives me tingles all over. i can't quite narrow down the exact cause though. probably just a mixture of factors. many many elements. yes well. all that matters is getting high.
